Happy Holidays from Brazil!
This is the Coral Natal de Luz (the Christmas of Light Choir) singing a poppy version of Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” in Portuguese. The kids are all in different windows of a building in downtown Fortaleza, and if you look closely, you can see Santa in the bottom center window.
Hey Mike, sounds like you’re having fun down there! Happy Holidays from Los Angeles.
Hi,
I am interested in applying for the fellowship. How much did you know about Brazilian music before you applied? Did you need sponsorship from your school?
Thanks!
Hey there,
I’ve been studying Brazilian music for years now, but I still have lots to learn. I didn’t need any sponsorship from my university, but I did need letters of recommendation from professors. And it really helps to have some affiliation with a university or institution abroad. Are you wanting to study in Brazil? You should apply!
@Alexandra, Thanks! I am having fun!
-Mike
