It’s a beautiful spring day in Belgrade and I wanted to share with you some sounds of the city via some interesting producers I’ve found in my research.
TAPAN is the project of DJ Schwabe (Nebojša Bogdanović) and Piece of Shh (Goran Simonoski). Their newest release “The City” is my Belgrade anthem. It’s a great song for walking through the city and imagining the past of the city streets as well as the future.
Here is a clip of them performing live with additional percussion and woodwinds.
33.10.3402 is a project of Nenad Markovic. The moniker is as mysterious as the music. His latest release on the U.S. based label, L.I.E.S., is an interesting ride.
Lenhart Tapes is the tape-based project of Vladimir Lenhart. I’ve really been enjoying this track Baresha since seeing Vladimir and Zoja B perform it earlier this year at Drugstore. The crowd went wild to the eastern-influenced rhythms.
I’ve seen Jan Nemeček perform live techno with his modular synths many times during my stay in Belgrade and it’s always an interesting set. Here is a taste of his music. Check out his soundcloud for some longer sets.
Kӣr is the project of Bane Jovancevic. His live set is always interesting and I’ve seen him perform with various instruments and moods during my research. Keep an eye out for his upcoming tape release on Creme Organization from the Netherlands.
atom/output (A//O)’s newest release of techno. I think my favorite track is the last excerpt the (ghost edit).
Raum.null’s newest release Belgrade Dubs 002 is dark and intense. Some dark techno from “the white city.”
Chorbika’s “Skiti” translates as hermitage, but sounds like summer to me. I’m looking forward to hearing this track on the splav, a night club of boat on the river.
